I am SO depressed...

If only I could describe the dread and depression that I feel right now.  Can't seem to find where it will end.  No one to share these feelings with and trying to deal with it by getting to the outdoors as there is the only place that I feel at peace.  Wanting to cry, but nothing happens.  Must continue to find ways to manage the unmanageable and help where help is not wanted, but needed.

Shambhala Guests Share their Thoughts

Shambhala was reintroduced to the world on August 1, 2015.  Reservations were scheduled every weekend and some days during the week through December 2015.  Unfortunately, Shambhala could not accommodate guests in 2016 due to San Bernardino County land use restrictions.  A summary of the restriction is, "...the property must be raped of its natural beauty and redeveloped into a recognizable urban abomination that can be taxed before guests can visit."  I have formulated and am working on my plan to reestablish the path to enlightenment without destroying the spirit.  I have already rebuilt Shambhala.  In addition, at the pinnacle of Jones Peak is Nirvana.  Nirvana greets every soul that demonstrates what it takes to make it to the top.   I hope to announce that those with the will and desire, open heart and open mind will have the opportunity to make the pilgrimage again by summer/fall of 2020.
Some of those fortunate enough to have already made the pilgrimage memorialized their thoughts and experiences in writing.  Enjoy...

It is HOT!

Car temperature gauge displayed 100 Degrees Fahrenheit as I entered San Bernardino County. Just concluded a call with Linda.  She asked if I would speak at Talmadge's funeral service the Friday after next.  Of course; it would be an honor.  Tal was a once in a lifetime personality.  Whatever is on the calendar for August 9, 2019 was just bumped.

It was 90°F when I arrived at Jones Peak.  I stopped at an In-N-Out Burger in route to have dinner.  The line of cars at the In-N-Out Burger was at least 1/8 of a mile long.   Cars were lined up from the order window, down the restaurant drive-in lane, through the shopping center parking lot, and back to the city street.  I opted to go inside of the restaurant and take my chances.  Luckily, there was a car leaving the parking lot as I turned and provided a quick parking space.  There were only 3 people ahead of me in line, with two In-N-Out employees taking orders.  I'm glad I didn't wait in the serpentine line at the drive-through.

I'm full and I'm tired.  The ascent of Jones Peak in 90°F heat is not at the top of my list of things to do tonight.  During the walk, I notice that some of my cairns were disturbed.  Is this the first sign of vandals?  Walking a little further, I see that the more sturdy cairns are still in place.  In fact, some of the hikers have added to them.  The disturbed cairn may have been caused by the recent swarm of earthquakes.

EXPOSED! Secret vacation spot of the 1%...

As wonderful as Jones Peak is, we know that Ecstasy in excess can work up an appetite, and we've got you covered. The executive kitchen and formal dinning area are staffed with master chefs and culinary artists from around the world who have distinguished themselves as worthy to serve in paradise.  To date, it's a very short list.

"The fried chicken made me slap my mama," Queen Elizabeth ("Liz-bit").

We  cater to all dietary disciplines.  The North Korean diet is most popular with those trying to shed a few pounds or reach a higher state of enlightenment by refusing to ingest life sustaining nutrients thereby causing cessation of all cellular activity.  At Jones Peak we combine food and fun with our vegan horseshoes. There is an extra fee and longer processing time for non-vegan horseshoes due to the travel time from Santa Anita, CA.

"Don't yell at me, Wilbur, I'm not your wife." Mister Ed (Famous Loquacious Nag).

"I've been to the Mountain Top; and found Nirvana." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Nirvana has been described as an out of body experience.  Few have experienced the euphoria that Nirvana generates.  The simple but functional furnishings leave space for your soul to soar.  The Sun during the day and Stars at night are your boundaries. This is where you let go and let God.

Summer Fun on Jones Peak

Nature is in full display.  The buck is still in velvet and the bear are getting frisky. Views from the top are still phenomenal.  It is such a spectacular view of the valley below covered by the pillowy cloud cover.  Gray skies at sea level turn into blue skies and cotton-ball clouds at 6000 feet.

Shambhala has a fire pit, but I'm still concerned with the fire danger.  Better safe than sorry.  The area is clear, but the vegetation has grown so much this year thanks to the large amount of rainfall.  We're not complaining, just stating the facts.

The zip line is waiting for renovation.  I plan to relocate the bottom termination so that the endpoint will be closer to ground level.  Really, it seems like most things are in need of renovation.  The zip line almost killed me during the maiden run https://youtu.be/Jy7wjqCIpyE.

Not much free time to spend at The Rock to make these improvements.  It's great having a full time shelter at Shambhala. But as you know, the roof needs repair.  The snow load collapsed the roof over the past winter.  The leisure dome at Nirvana is the bomb.  It is a comfortable respite from the sun and provides an unobstructed view of the valley.

Deep Creek Lake is still flowing.  The sound of the flow is soothing and relaxing.  I must find the time to to take advantage of what nature is gifting me this year.  As I often say, it is so much cheaper than therapy.

News about Shambhala and Nirvana

Shambhala and Nirvana are re-created.  I will post here, include some pictures and include the link to videos taken from the sacred sites.  I am very excited to be back.  Nirvana is at the summit, while Shambhala has a new location. This comment is being written on 5/25/19, so pictures of the huge snowfall are from earlier in the year.

As much as I like living 2 blocks from the beach, Shambhala and Nirvana provide an environment that de-stresses me. I thank all of the people who had an opportunity to experience Shambhala who shared their experience via AirBnB.  I hope to be able to provide the AirBnB experience again in the near future.
